Rainy Day Activities for Kids

Entertaining kids at home can be a struggle, so let us introduce a splash of magic into some rainy day activities to keep you and your kids happy! From indoor games to fun crafts, these activities are the perfect way to spend a rainy day.

Keep Active

This may seem like the opposite of what you can do indoors, but we promise as long as you clear some space, you can still tire your kids out before bedtime!

Indoor Obstacle Course

Build an obstacle course with different parts of your furniture, including cushions and blankets, and time yourself and them speeding through the course. This is sure to get their minds working and feet moving as they devise the most fun route that’ll take them over, through, and under your furniture.

Treasure Hunt

Why keep hunts to Easter? Grab some Lucky Charm’s, a few pots of gold and other items and scatter them about the house. Create a few clues with magical spins on them (like “where unicorns run” - the garden), and set your kids on an enchanted adventure through the house. As an added treat, you can make up a bowl of our Leprechaun Snack Mix to leave beside each piece of treasure!

Get Crafting

Few things to do on a rainy day are as fun as opening the crafts box and glueing, painting, and sticking with Lucky Charms’ most magical crafts!

Dragon Pencil Holder

Keep all your craft supplies in one place with this eye-catching Dragon Pencil Holder! All you need to begin is an empty cardboard tube (think toilet paper or paper towel), some colourful construction paper and a few bits and pieces from your crafts box. Paint or color in your tube, cut out all your pieces – from a spiky tail to arms and legs – and get sticking. Finish your creation off with a pair of googly eyes and don’t forget to name them!

Marshmallow Shape Game

You only need three things to get Lucky’s Marshmallow Shape Game started: a sheet of paper with shape cutouts, a Just Magical Marshmallows pouch, and a curious mind. Let your little ones make fun shapes with our tasty marshmallows that can double as a quick snack afterwards!

Lucky Trap Decorations

If you’ve already got your leprechaun traps set up, then how about keeping the magic flowing with Lucky Trap Decorations like rainbows, walkways, and stairs! All you need are household items and a spark of creativity. Feel free to add your own spin to the design and share your traps with us by tagging @luckycharms on Instagram.

Cozy Comforts

Blankets and pillows are the best ways to keep the cold out, but once you’ve gathered all the blankets in the house, what should you do with them? Enchant them, of course!

Pillow Fort

Get your creative and engineering juices flowing with a pillow fort. Build them as big or small as you want, as long as they’re cozy and filled with whimsy! Build them big and cram the whole family in or scale them down and build multiple forts to have several ruling kingdoms – the choice is yours!

Home Cinema

A home cinema is the perfect way to wind down after a long day of rainy day activities. Pack the games away, let the baking rest, and deconstruct the pillow fort into a bed of blankets and pillows in front of the TV. Turn on a fan favorite and let your kids drift off to sleep in comfort.

Enjoy the Rain!

Sometimes there’s nothing little ones like better than playing in the rain. Whether it’s jumping into puddles, racing paper boats down hills or just getting muddy! If the rain doesn’t look like it’s stopping, sometimes it’s best to just embrace the weather and enjoy the magic of the rain and what it can bring. Just make sure to have plenty of towels and a hot shower ready for when you come in!
